Now Open the Coneflower Pavilion!
Heckrodt Wetland Reserve is excited to announce the grand opening of the Coneflower Pavilion Project. This multi-use project will be enjoyed by many visitors throughout the year. The project will serve as a new outdoor classroom, a public program venue, and a destination on our snowshoe trail. It will also be a community gathering spot for prairie reclamation and pollinator friendly discussions. This project celebrates the life cycle and journey of the Monarch butterfly, and the role that we all play in its success. This ADA friendly site overlook will boast a multi-level viewer, solar pergola array, 8-foot Monarch sculpture, relief carvings of the Monarch life cycle, metamorphosis mosaic, pollinator friendly plants, and bilingual signage. Special thanks to Boldt Construction, Faith Technologies Incorporated, and Heckrodt’s dedicated team of staff, donors, and volunteers for helping make this project a reality. The project continues our efforts in connecting our community to nature and making it accessible for all.
