Volunteer
Heckrodt Wetland Reserve uses volunteers in
every aspect of our operations!
We don’t require a minimum time commitment….
Volunteer repeatedly, or volunteer once in a while…..
-Your time is always appreciated and valued-
Volunteer Help is needed for:
- Teacher Naturalist- Assist in teaching school field trips, scout groups
- Nature Center Sitter – Be a helpful presence in the nature center when staff cannot be there
- Event Volunteer – Set-up, admission, parking, clean up at public events
- Citizen Science Monitoring Projects – Water quality testing, etc.
- Aquarium Care/ Cleaning
- Site Maintenance – Special projects
- Invasive Species Control
- Weeding/ Gardening
Must be 14 years or older to volunteer alone. 10-to-13-year-olds can volunteer with an adult.

Have a high schools student looking for service hours?
The Heckrodt Conservation Camp is for students going into 9th grade until 12th grade. This camp runs from July 5th – 21st, Tuesday – Thursdays. Registation begins March 2022. Click the link below for more information and to register.
Heckrodt Conservation Camp
The General Volunteer Form (see above form) is for adults and families for any volunteer effort, and also for high school-age youth not volunteering during summer months.
