Heckrodt Wetland Reserve uses volunteers in every aspect of our operations
Due to Covid 19, our volunteer program has very limited opportunities right now. Please fill out an application and we will process it and let you know when we start getting back to normal.
Volunteer Help is needed for:
- Teacher Naturalist
- Exhibit maintenance
- Administration (copying, folding, craft preparation, database entry)
- Invasive Species Management
- Natural landscaping and Gardening
- General grounds management (mowing, wood management, weed-eating, raking, painting, window washing)
- Special events support
- Event Photography
- Take-home projects also available
Must be 14 years or older to volunteer alone. 10–13 year olds can volunteer with an adult.
Please download the application below, fill it out, and return it the Nature Center. Current opportunities are also listed in Calling All Volunteers, our monthly volunteer newsletter. Contact Andrea Bierbrauer, Heckrodt Wetland Reserve Volunteer Coordinator for more information.
Please note, we are not currently accepting unsupervised court ordered community service.
Have a high schools student looking for service hours?
We have a High School Youth Volunteer Camp, Heckrodt Conservation Crew that meets in the summer. Registration begins Spring 2022.
The General Volunteer application is for adults and families for any volunteer effort, and also for high school age youth not volunteering during summer months. You can either mail it in or scan and email it to [email protected]
