Heckrodt Book Club
Connecting Nature & Literacy
Our little free library was established in spring of 2022. The library is able to provide free books for visitors to enjoy and also allows visitors to leave books for others to enjoy. This unique opportunity has created a space which strives for connecting nature and literacy. Getting outside and being exposed to reading are some of the most important things for young children. Reading allows us to be able to gain new information which helps us to explore and understand the world around us.
The Heckrodt Book Club:
In 2023, we expanded upon this offering and provide a themed program experience. The Heckrodt Book Club will host seasonal public programs (that are free) and participants will be able to get a book that relates to the program topic. Topics will include winter activities, getting outside in the spring, fishing, pond life, and tiny perfect nature things.
