Reclaimed Prairie
Experience the wide-open prairie habitat at Heckrodt Wetland Reserve. Historically a former dumping site, today we enjoy it as a 4-acre reclaimed prairie.
This ½ mile prairie trail (red trail) is great for seeing many types of wildlife, including birds and pollinator species. This is also the location where we keep our honeybee yard.
Even though the peak prairie bloom is June-August, this interpretive site won’t disappoint throughout the seasons.
