Join Heckrodt Wetland Reserve in celebrating the end of 2023 and the beginning of new light in 2024. This date marks the beginning of astronomical winter in the northern hemisphere and is usually the shortest day of the year. Cultures have celebrated this annual event for centuries and we should too! This torch led hike will take visitors through some unique parts of the Reserve. Each participant will also receive their own craft s'mores kit to enjoy by the campfire. During your torch lit experience, take time to reflect on the present, while looking forward to the year ahead and the gradual increase of light.
